Not only does Amaranta Martínez (aka Piktorama) have a sweet tooth, her designs are bold and tasteful as well. Her chocolate- and cupcake-inspired illustrations make any viewer happy…and hungry. Piktorama, originally from Caracas and now living in Miami, has designed for Nickelodeon, MTV Latin America, Discovery Channel, and Discovery Kids, to name a few. 1. How would you describe your work in three words?
Fun, Colorful and Whimsical.
2. Who is your creative role model?
More then Who is What … and that is… Love, Life, Chocolate, everything that makes me smile .
3. If you had an extra hour each day what would you do with it?
Eat more chocolate jeje.
4. What place in the world most inspires you and why?
I would have to say Paris, too bad I’ve only been there once. This is going to sound like a cliché… but I fell in love in Paris, now I have that little piece of Paris at home.
5. If you could do a different job for a day what would it be and why?
I would love to be a Sommelier… drink and talk about wine all day. I usually do it but I don’t get paid jeje
6. What is your favorite homemade gift to give?
A Gocco Print. I love to make them its fun and usually I get a big smile from people.
7. What is your favorite object in your home?
My fluffy slippers.
8. What is the best advice you’ve ever received?
I don’t know, I guess we always listen to advice but never really pay attention to them :/ (sorry mom)

10. When do you consider a piece of your work complete?
I always think it’s never complete, I just say: OK I have to STOP now!
