1. How would you describe your work in three words?
Polished, pretty, wearable.
2. Who is your creative role model?
My mom. She was an amazing costume designer and always encouraged my sisters and I to make stuff, all sorts of stuff. We didn’t have cable growing up, so it was the 4 of us (I have 3 sisters) and our imaginations. I have a truly overactive imagination.
3. If you had an extra hour each day what would you do with it?
Surf.
4. What place in the world most inspires you and why?
The beach. I grew up on an island, and there is something about the salty air and sunshine that makes me think anything is possible. And I like being barefoot.
5. If you could do a different job for a day what would it be and why?
I’d write romantic novels because I secretly love them. I take the covers off so nobody knows I’m reading them.
6. What is your favorite homemade gift to give?
I don’t know if I’ve given any homemade gifts lately, other than a cake. But I do give really good gifts, you can ask my friends ![]()
7. What is your favorite object in your home?
Honestly, my bed. And my boyfriend’s Peter Beard photograph. I want it.
8. What is the best advice you’ve ever received?
Do what you love and you will succeed.
9. What websites do you use for inspiration?
It depends on what I’m working on and what the inspiration for that particular collection is. Recently, I’ve been watching a lot of black and white movies, so I guess Netflix.
10. When do you consider a piece of your work complete?
When it’s perfect.
