1. How would you describe your work in three words?
Beautiful bright scarves.
2. Who is your creative role model?
It is so hard to pick just one I have so many and they change all the time as my work develops, however I can definitely say that I love Moschino, their prints, their clothes… everything, I think they are amazing. I also love A Romance Was Born, I can’t get enough of their work at the moment.
3. If you had an extra hour each day what would you do with it?
I would like to think I would go to the gym more or something along those lines, however I would probably try and squeeze in everything else I try to anyway on a daily basis. I could really do with that extra hour!
4. What place in the world most inspires you and why?
Home on the Wirral, a lot of my work seems to just fall into place when I am there, it is quiet and by the beach maybe that has something to do with it.
5. If you could do a different job for a day what would it be and why?
Someone asked me this the other day and out of the blue I said a dentist. No idea where that came from or why I said that, but I guess it would be a dentist then. Only for the day though, I am quite happy as I am!
6. What is your favorite homemade gift to give?
Something edible and chocolate based is always a good bet!
7. What is your favorite object in your home?
My bed… even better with fresh sheets!
8. What is the best advice you’ve ever received?
Stay focused.
9. What websites do you use for inspiration?
There is not one particular site I use for inspiration, however I do like the Urban Outfitters Blog that has a really good variety of work to look at and get inspired, also The Cool Hunter is quite interesting. I like music blogs and going through them, I find music the best thing for any inspirational block.
10. When do you consider a piece of your work complete?
I find it so hard to consider something complete I could go on tweaking and changing things forever… I just look at the piece and think ‘right Lucy it looks good just leave it now and move on!’
