
Knitwear company Branda not only delivers warmth with handmade accessories, but also with their heartfelt passion for the craft. Argentine sisters Mariana and Paula started Branda as an eponymous tribute to their grandmother, who taught them how to knit as young children. Today, the girls honor their grandmother’s art by selling hand-making scarves, neck-warmers, hats, laced cuffs and gloves worldwide. 1. How would you describe your work in three words?
Simple, useful and well-made.
2. Who is your creative role model?
Carlo Scarpa, an Italian architect.
3. If you had an extra hour each day what would you do with it?
Work more.
4. What place in the world most inspires you and why?
Italy. We love the people, food, art, spirit.
5. If you could do a different job for a day what would it be and why?
We would be cooks, but we don’t know how to!
6. What is your favorite homemade gift to give?
A scarf. Fits everyone, is useful and always remembers you with love.
7. What is your favorite object in your home?
The bedroom furniture from our grandparents are vintage, beautiful, strong and eternal.
8. What is the best advice you’ve ever received?
Be optimistic, think positive.
9. What websites do you use for inspiration?
Vogue, Brooklyn Tweed and Ravelry.
10. When do you consider a piece of your work complete?
When we can’t add or remove everything.
