Pei-San Ng

Pei-San Ng’s artwork certainly sparks a conversation. That’s because this architectural designer and multimedia artist creates complex sculptures out of simple matches. By placing matches tightly together, she creates large scale dollar signs, sneakers or words like “Love” and “Passion.” In some pieces she even burns the materials to create variance in color. In her words, “When you look at these pieces you realize that – if you light the matches then you change the work if not burn it completely, there is a tension there, you get a moment of satisfaction and then you have nothing – I like that tease.” See what fires up this creative mind with Pei-San’s 10 ANSWERS below.
