Mato Atom

mato atom

Mato Atom says his most inspirational place is the brain, which makes sense given how cerebral his art is. He explains, “Ideas happen in there no matter the physical location.” This talented and thought-provoking director and self-described “hobby astronomer without a telescope” creates stunning sculptures and videos that get synapses firing. For example, his World Wildlife Fund piece called “We Are All Connected” features yarn-woven animals that maintain their connectedness through the string. Ponder the ins and outs of Mato’s art and responses in his 10 ANSWERS below.
