Natasha Case

There’s an art to constructing the perfect dessert. And Freya Estreller and Natasha Case, co-founders of Coolhaus ice cream have done just. The duo began blueprinting their ice cream sandwiches in 2008, naming combinations after architects and architectural movements that inspired them. Today, they have a fleet of three trucks and a store front in LA, and a truck in Austin, all staffed with a team of architects, designers, developers, artists, bakers, actors, writers, musicians and people from all walks of life. The name Coohaus is a triple entendre, combining Bauhaus (the modernist design movement) with Rem Koolhaas (the famous Dutch Architect who challenged “form follows function”) with “Cool House” (an ice cream sandwich with a cookie roof/floor and ice cream walls). Natasha and Freya are dedicated to quality and sustainability, even the wrapper is edible -  who knew that truck drivers could produce such tasteful environmentally friendly design?! Last Saturday, they debuted the Coolhaus Ice Cream Sandwich Truck in NYC with four days of FREE ice cream sandwiches.
